Rear glass behaves differently to a front windscreen. It is toughened rather than laminated, so instead of cracking it usually breaks into thousands of small blunt pieces that end up through the boot, the parcel shelf and the back seats.
That means a back window replacement is two jobs in one: clearing out the broken glass properly, then fitting and sealing the new rear glass. Most rear windows also carry a demister element and sometimes an aerial, and those connections need to be reconnected so they work as they did before.
We replace rear glass on sedans, hatchbacks, wagons, vans and four wheel drives.
